Yacht shrink wrap

Shipping agent aren't that interested according to the person buying the boat. Suggesting that the wrap will cause more damage!!!

I would suggest trying to speak to one of the people at Peters and May in Southampton and asking if they can recommend anybody in the port of loading as they have many contacts all over the place.
I have to say that does sound like a 'cannot be bothered' answer from the shippers.
Cause more damage my backside!
Where in the Far East is it, if Taiwan I will gladly call the Johnson Factory and ask who they use, other than that, sorry I cannot help more.

I agree about the can't do attitude. I am just on here checking on behalf of the new owner as the transportation is being sorted by His representative.

Interesting that he is still waiting on a contact from Sevenstar. He filled in their web quote 3 weeks ago and no contact since, I guess they must be busy.

I used an agent in Genoa last year for moorings and immigration clearance I will try them.

I gather the issue is that if it tears slightly then it starts flapping about and after x days are sea in a good breeze it can do significant GRP damage.

JFM had this issue when he took Match to the Med. His solution was to put a "hairnet" over the wrap so this could not happen.

I sent our new boat with no wrapping to the med as do most others when you see them on the ships.

It will get dirty but you just wash it when it arrives.

Drift covers are who sunseeker use

if you want it to arrive pristine using a cover there is a lot to do before like taping the rails, screen and any fibre glass that the cover will/may rub on during shipping..

If you put some time into preparation of the boat before it goes you shouldn't need to wrap it, just have a good valet when it arrives

if you do cover it put a cargo net outer it as well

Shipping P85 yacht to Far East from Genoa.

Can anyone recommend a wrapping company.

All my covers have been done by Drift with anti chafe prep and hairnets, but they are in UK. You need a Genoa firm. I don't know any so perhaps ask 7star or Google.

Thanks for all comments. JRudge I her what you say about shipping to Med and would not bother either but that's an5 day trip. Genoa to Singapore is 30+ days and through some nasty stretches where sand gets in every nook and cranny.

JFM we can't get a call out of Sevenstar let alone a quote....

The guy sorting the delivery out is checking to see if there is an option to go in the hold. A friend of mine did this when shipping his 100' Ferreti to Florida..
