Hello I can tell you that on very many occations, I have used Chris Hawes at Yacht Fractions ,and can honesty say ,IMHO that he has allways acted in my best interests.
and can recomend him without any problem
Cheers bob t
I think that Chris Hawes of yacht fractions is trying to earn an honest penny but I should recount some negative aspects of my dealings with him.
1 - After travelling out to Greece to view a yacht for sale I was immediately told by the owner on board that as far as he was concerned another person travelling out later had first refusal.
2 - The "20 minute" taxi ride was 75 minutes.
3 - Within 30 minutes of inspecting the yacht I found major wide arc stress crazing and a cracked stringer indicating a serious collision, this was despite Chris Hawes seeming personally confident the yacht was in wonderful condition.
4 - Having studied the online list of shares available for 9 months I know there are stagnant entries that disappear following a failed attempt to arrange a viewing.
5 – A recent UK magazine article detailing the trials and tribulations of establishing a med-based yacht syndicate did not read well for this company.
Having said all that Yacht Fractions does a decent job of creating a market place for the sale of yacht shares but it is very much a hands-off introduction service. I do not know of a significant rival business.
Hi As stated I can only say that I have found very little to complain about with Y/F.
As most broker don`t know about the yacht in their own yard / marina , it is a little difficult for Chris to know the condition of the hundred of boats that he and other brokers in Greece have to offer,With regards the the mag item I know the woman and the boat in question ,If this boat was brand new see would have found faults
The only caution I would have ,is not to have anything to do with the Greek contact of Y/F in Alimos Marina DO NOT ACCEPT A LIFT OFF HIM .SEE THE BOATS ON YOUR OWN, TALK TO THE OWNERS WITHOUT HIM. If not he WILL want a %.
