I saw this morning that BBC-4 is running a series on "Yacht Rock", a genre I didn't know existed before.

Sadly, it all looks pretty MoR, and doesn't seem to include such shoe-ins as the Beatles' "Fixing a hole", Quo's "Down down (deeper and down)", anything by Mud, Little Feat's "Sailing Shoes", Dr Feelgood's "Down by the Jetty" (blues and album..), or even Otis' "Sitting on the dock of a bay"...

I feel a playlist coming on here.

"I can't sail my yacht -
taxman's taken all I've got..."

Dignity has to be on the list. Should help every boat owner appreciate their boat.

There was a highly entertaining TV series called "Yacht Rock" I watched on YouTube last year. I heard the genre referred to on the radio yesterday morning, but I was still asleep so can't remember what they said.

p.s. not for those of a sensitive disposition.

A while back, on a windy race, I overtook an old geezer in his Laser, I'm sure he was singing something by WASP, possibly 'Harder/Faster'.
I'm sure I've heard some Van Halen too, 'Sinners swing' (get out and push...)
