Two rescued after boat hits rocks
Two members of crew aboard an English yacht were rescued after their vessel struck rocks off Jersey.
The Jusim, which is based in Hampshire, hit rocks on the north-east side of the Dog's Nest Reef, half a mile south of the main entrance to St Helier harbour.
The vessel was spotted to be in trouble by St Helier port control at 2000 BST on Saturday, and the inshore and all-weather lifeboats launched.
One of the rescued people was slightly injured and taken to hospital.
The inshore lifeboat was initially launched and her crew subsequently called for the all-weather lifeboat to assist in pulling the yacht off the rocks in the Force 5 wind.
The inshore vessel managed to tow the yacht to safety but damaged an outboard engine in the process.
The yacht, which is based in Hayling Island in Hampshire, had been sailing between Cherbourg and St Malo and had decided to head for St Helier when the wind speeds increased.
