I recently posted here, asking about delivery skipper rates for getting my Bavaria 37 to the Med.
Several forumites suggested that road haulage would be a better bet. I hadn't really considered this.

Across France would probably do (shortest route) with me sailing to a suitable port in northern France then with road haulage to the south coast.

Does anyone have knowledge or experience of the typical costs, problems, etc. of doing this, please?

Thanks

Alan

When I delivered my boat from the Med to Brittany I enquired as to which yards delivered to the Med with the risk that their lorries would come back empty. I got very good rates for this. You might want to contact say an Italian manufacturer who delivers to N. Europe. eg Grand Soleil.

Hi
Another vote for Van de Wetering.
We used them from Port Napoleon to Breskens last year and couldn't fault them. Their prices are good as they do so many trips both ways, they can normally put you on a return.
We are a 44 ft motorsailer (that was too high to go through the Alpine tunnels on the back of a truck! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif)
