Confession - my wife and I haven't got around to joining any club to date, but we do frequent and enjoy a few as visitors. I feel a bit guilty that we don't pay any subs, not doing our bit etc. We've been looking around the past couple of seasons and reckon on balance we like the Royal Dorset, even though we're Solent based.

Reasons are that it's very friendly and we seem to end up there more than any other club even if it's only a couple of times a season. Also, the subs are reasonable.

Would we be betraying our native Hampshire by applying for membership? If so, any suggestions for an alternative?

Questions, always questions...

You don't say where you moor your boat. I personally prefer a club close to where the boat is moored both for the social life and the fact that I can have a pint and a chat on a Sunday evening after everything's packed up before I go home.
