Are there any members of the either the Royal Southern or RAF yacht clubs present? Why? Because I wish to complain about your wash! Yesterday, while refuelling two school boats on the fuel pontoon at Port Hamble the wash kicked up by your motor launches was totally unaccpetable. Both club launches came very close to the pontoon and the wash given off by both them caused considerable "annoyance" to all who were waiting to fuel up, particularly two small ribs refuelling with petrol.
I spent a whole session talking to the students on the course (Level 2 Powerboat) about the effects of wash particularly on sailing boats and how they should give a wide berth and slown down. So, to the members of both clubs, please ask your launch helmsmen - no tell them - to have more consideration in future. Thank you in anticipation.
