That actually looks an interesting business proposition to me! If it goes for that price I'd say it was probably a bargain - it's freehold, has revenue potential from slipway, bar/restaurant, moorings and accommodation plus a riverside home in a fantastic location! I'd have a look under the mattress and consider myself, but know I'm not likely to find anything... :(

You would be a bit lonely, it's about 75% second homes, like a ghost town most of the year. When there are people there it's all 4x4's that are incapable of getting past another car on the lanes. Bizarely I can always get my van past tractors on the same roads......
Sorry, bit of a 2nd home owner rant there....

Many happy holidays in Helford River, mostly involving sailing dinghies; Port Navas YC has always been very welcoming. As Savills say, it's privately owned (not really sure why it's called a "club") and, as already pointed out, the area (indeed most of Port Navas) dries at LW. The pontoons will take mostly quite small craft (and, of course, for anything more than a short stop, visiting craft will need to take ground). I hope if continues as it's a welcoming asset in a very beautiful and very "boaty" part of the world but, if it does continue as at present, I suspect the owner will have to work very hard to make a decent profit

Shows the area very well, but I suspect the photo was taken on a low spring tide. You can see most of the boats are quite small, it's no place for a deep draft forty-foot job, but for a small shoal-draft boat that takes ground it's a near approximation to paradise (given a bit more tide).
You can also see that the Port Navas pontoons will only take small boats, and not all that many of them.

It's nice to dream :)

The problem at that price it is not a serious business proposition - I doubt if it could make a commercial rate of return.
