So just had the reminder which has gone up a lot , but in the restrictions it says , whilst unattended ,it is not insured if it is under 17 ft ,or is designed to go over 17 knots is that right

You have not read it correctly. It says.......... under 17ft and capable of more than 17 knots.

My Y premium increased (in March) by about 20% . I shopped around and could only find one that was less money and there was only a few pounds in it. So I stuck with Y this time.

By the way - well done for reading the policy . Many people do not and are then surprised when conditions are applied in the event of a claim.

Bit of thread drift but I changed to Y this year as a result of the comments from JFM. Their cover for electrolysis is much better than my existing insurer.

I think we are all there due to JFM's diligence, He should be on commission :encouragement:

Ha ha I’m thick, thanks for the help

Dont worry I made the same mistake a couple of years ago myself and felt very foolish when I rang them up about it

Tee hee. If only a bit of internet postery would pay for a chunky boat :D
I just renewed with Y yesterday. Still like the policy and the value.
Now that I don't live in UK, and the boat isn't in UK, i need to get off the part 1 register because that is all that is making me have to pay IPT, which was ~£1,000 wasted when I paid yesterday, d'oh. On my to-do list for this year.

Tbh, j, it’s knowing that even your paperwork’s not quite as good as it could be that gives the rest of us some hope. ?

Question is should we all be following your lead & getting out of the UK. Something I have given some thought to.

You know what I've learned on this thread.
JFM's renewal date is a couple of weeks after mine.
That means that in the future, I will have renewed mine if he decides that there is a better offer and moves on.
:D:D
