Whilst waiting for a free fuel pump in Port Grimaud we spotted this gorgeous new powerboat - the XSR48! We circled a while and eventually came in directky behind it when the big white thing moved - obviously no pics as when it refuels it's all hand on deck! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks for those Chris, phwoar she does look the business, I wonder whether those inserts in the 'winglets' on the hull are rubber or something to save in and out with fenders?

btw I am there next month delivering a new 47, is that the only fuel station or is there another one nearer the lift, boat comes with only the smell of an oily rag in the tanks so don't fancy conking out on the way to the pumps /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

That is the only one I know of in Port Grimaud, although there could be one round the corner in Les Marines de Cogolin but I cant say for definite /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I would assume that St Tropez will have one though...

By the way I hadnt even noticed the rubber fender things, the website might give more info... where are you delivering the 47 to? I'll keep a look out next time I'm in whichever port it is /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nautical,

If the 47 is being launched from a truck (correct me if i've misinterpreted), i'd have thought it would be from the Lift in Marines de Cogolin. As Chris says..there is another fuel station in Cogolin which is much easier to approach and tie up imho.

If you are talking about the lift at Monaco Marine then although I have never seen the Marines de Cogolin fuel station, I could practically skim a stone to the PG one from there if there wasn;t a wall seperating the two ports...

I'd stick a jerry can of fuel in bought from the Elf fuel station on the N98 which is just round the corner which will definitely get you to PG fuel station!

[/ QUOTE ]There's more than that - see here.
Oh, and this is where I just realized the XSR48 comes from.

The boat is going to an owner in one them expensive waterside properties with its own berth at PG so thinking was bung it in there but on reflection just thought its tight that direction for boat that size on transport, if I remember there is a bridge or something with a hump in it near so maybe the transport guys will say no, dunno really, failing that so far i have always launched at Aire de Boom at LaRague and then just sailed it where ever, knowing everyone there and the flow of things perhaps thats what we will do, gives me a chance to have a razz down to PG before handover /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

look here to see it in action, they used to be sold through Berthons in Lymington.

I believe they can do 85kts with the right engines /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I wanna try it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I have to say though, I bet it gets pretty hot in that cockpit!

What that thing needs is a nice bowrider arrangement! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh to hell with it i'm just going to stick with my bayliner, I love it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Nice pics.

I admit to having a problem with the boat because of the hubris that surrounds it. Words like "first" and "supercar" and "bugatti"... all seemingly coined in-house.

In America, there are no shortage of 100mph boats... nice new ones available at GBP250K. For GBP350-400K you're at 170mph.

Very true actually, i just particularly like this look - Wouldnt mind a Supercharged Bayliner but in all honesty I'm not in it for the speed anymore like I was a few years ago, a potter around the bay is fine just spotting the biggies that come into St tropez /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'd like a cigarette racer really! Either that or something like the absolute 47 or the Sessa C46 that was in MBM a few months back!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

very nice the Sessa in this picture I really love there big models, thumbs up for this company

the XSR 48 derives from the Kerakoll P1 Evolution racer which was among the most seaworthy boats of this category second only to www.metamarine.it
which had 2 boats in the class Metamarine Corse and Trident Corse
the Kerakoll in what I saw did a bit of too much chine walking over the top speed range, but has a really fast return to position when it used to jump of the water
reminds of the old Cesa 1882 or Gancia World Champion boat in Class 1 in 88 or 89 if I am correct
and later on Endurance World Champion with Rizzardi in 2003
this was designed by Fabio Buzzi and produced as the C&B 50 Nitro in the late eighties
