I have two of these which have served me well on the boat and at home over the last 2/3 years. One stopped working last week all of a sudden - fan appears to have stopped. The green dehumidifier light works ok, and you can still hear the compressor, but nothing is happening beyond that.

Have had a look inside to no avail. Seems like it's for the skip as having it looked at / repaired would cost more than what I paid for it ~ £90. Any suggestions / ideas before it hits the skip appreciated.

Thanks

Hi - I have the same model and the same problem - XM not responded to my request for spares/service. I think it is the fan motor as the wiring to it appears to be live.

In the end XM sent me some parts from a display machine and I replaced the fan motor which was defective - all works well now. Check the fan motor out first

Mine went in the skip 18 months ago at 54 weeks old from new - neither XM nor the chandler I bought it from would do anything to fix. Mine had fan going but no compressor running - just sat there whirring but zero water collection.

Have replaced it with a Meaco electric dessicant model, cheaper and much more effective than even when the XM was working.
