I have an XM Yachting HSB Lifebuoy on the stern of my Nimbus 340.It was purchased new by me. The instuctions tell you to to remove unit from holder + throw in direction of MOB. OK so far- but the unit is connected to the holder by only a few meters of thin line, and the pull on this line triggers the inflation of the lifebuoy, which is fitted with a light and drogue.
So it looks as though you end up with the inflated lifebuoy about 2M behind the boat still connected by the thin cord.
I realise that cutting the cord then looks a good idea- but the whole setup seems a bit weird- or am I missing something??
