After the artical in the yachting mags recalling the xm bosuns chair. I removed my unused chair from the boat and returned it to the chandlers from whence it was bought.

And I waited and waited and waited some more..... that was 4 MONTHS ago and still Im getting fobbed of with excuse after excuse.

calls are being made to XM while Im in the chandlers and the staff are being told that "rupert" isnt available and "rupert" is busy .... blah blah blah.

Now the chandlers have done the decent thing and they have refunded the princely sum of £30.00 so thank you Force 4 for all your efforts and " rupert" can shove his XM products where the sun dont shine !

Shoddy service, appaling aftersales, and couldnt careless attitude XM ...... you suck !

I sent 2 emails to XM last week asking them about the safety recall or what the repair entailed and if it was ok to use as it is. So far I have heard nothing. So much for their concern for the customer.
If I see XM on a product in future i shall avoid!!!!!!

Actually this recall has made me check out any new purchase before we leave a store.
I was overseas when I read of the recall in a mag - and we had one.
Rang number they gave to learn it was a simple sewing issue. Not enough overlap on two pieces of webbing.
Sending back was not not feasible for us - so out came the sewing kit and spare webbing.
Literally ten minutes later all done - and cheaper than postage cost.
But I was glad to get the recall and wonder why I was daft enough not to notice the lack of overlap before then.......

I bought mine just under a year ago in a Spanish chandlery - it was ordered specially for me and was one of the ones without sufficient overlap. I contacted the company using the details above and was contacted in a few days. They are replacing mine entirely to save postage as I am in Spain but remember that this is a Plastimo company and they have worldwide product support.

I am very impressed by their response. Definitely worth contacting them wherever you are especially if you are not a dab hand making webbing repairs.
