XM dehumidifers - red light flashing

My XM dehumidifier worked ok for most of last winter - but after a few days back on line this winter and working correctly (cycling between water extraction and defrosting) the red light starts flashing. This goes on for hours / days (and no water us extracted). It only stops when I turn the thing off for a while. Does anyone know what the red light flashing means (I think red light constant means it's defrosting)?

Don't even joke about it, just got ours working and had the Ebac one back from it's 3rd repair, I can hear it now, sounds like the Tardis taking off!
