X 37

Don't have one. But my reading on X34 and X37 has all been positive. Are you intending to race it?

Yup Troon...

I haven't done a proper comparison but I think the X37 is a comparative bargain. X34 prices seem to be not much lower. A guy at our club had an X362 and loved it. Another guy has am X332 and does very well racing against all the js. I can't see how you can go wrong if you can afford it. It will hold its value better than most.

Lovely boat. X-Yachts Owners Association may be able to give you some contacts with other owners

Possibly a YOLO boat. More expensive than a BavBenJan but in the details so much more satisfying (like why an Audi feels nicer than a practical and efficient Vauxhall)

Contact Pure Latitude - www.purelatitude.com. They've had an X37 (and more recently a 46) in their fleet for a number of years and it will have had a real mix of use. It's done fastnet more than once and some other racing plus lots cruising as part of a club. Solid, well built boat but theirs will have undergone probably heavier than your average owner use so worth contacting. Ask for Martin Gray, he runs the outfit and X boats are something of an obsession for him.

Not sure if this is the one you're talking about but Pure Latitude often move their X to Scotland for the summer season. Fabulous boat to sail, main is simply enormous, does well in light airs. A really exhilarating ride, certainly sporty.

I guess a different boat... this is one owner lightly cruised never raced according to spec.

I have an X-302, now in her 22nd season, well built and FAST, (best result in RTI was 11 out of 840 in 2015). Very easy to sail and very forgiving, no sudden death rolls even when sailing by the lee.

Mostly sailing on south coast and cross channel.

I would always go for another X-Yacht.

Anyone with an x yachts 37 2007 vintage would like to comment about the boat.... any known problems.

Bought a 2008 X37 about 15 months ago after 17 years with a Nic 35, and I'm delighted with it. Fast, stiff, lots of power, very well built. Great fun but not twitchy. PM me - happy to chat/answer questions

Bavaria match series... 40 footer will be less money than an X37 or J109... IMO of course

... don't let one wayward keel scare you off.. we know why it happened! :-)

If the OP wants a good value cruiser racer that can still be competitive a Bavaria Match is a good bet. But I got the impression he wanted a fast cruiser with good build quality. I wouldn't expect the Match to match an X-yacht in that, particularly the woodwork down below. An Arcona or second-hand Finngulf would be a slightly more cruisey alternative, but not cheap.

Hello Micaro, I’d like to chat about the X37. Can you send me your email ?

Micaro - generally you can send a private message (PM) by clicking on the member name on the left hand side of the post.

BUT I don’t think this works for new members such as TIauvoille who looks to have made only that one post

TIauvoille - welcome to the forum. I think you need to make 5 or 6 posts on the forum before being able to use Private Messages. So either post a few more on here about your X37 ideas and/or add comments to other posts, to get your message count ideally into double figures.

PS. Nice boats
PPS. Just sent you a test Private Message to demonstrate how it works - look for an envelope icon at top right of forum screens
