Any of you Clyde forumites hear anything about a boat wrecked on rocks at Cumbrae in the last day/2.
Looking at a site, s1millport.com and there is a pic, put in today of Franky's boat, wrecked on the rocks near the Cumbrae sport centre.

She's definitely a Vega. Don't know who she is. Will post a link on the Vega Forum.

It is a Vega. If it belongs to Frank Corcoran then it is Viala based in Millport. V1047 with an Albin Petrol Engine.

Anyone know any other details?

That's the second Vega to be wrecked on Cumbrae in the last three years is it not?

Hopefully she is salvageable - hard to tell from the pic.

Last one was blown off her cradle in 100mph winds. Cradle leg snapped and pierced the hull. Repair work was over £10k!

Almost a write-off!!

Just phoned Frank and he will call me later and tell me all the details!!

This Vega was wrecked in May 2006 during the massive Eastery Winds (100mph). Tied to a pontoon securely but ripped the pontoon and the shore was very close. Complete write-off. Was disposed off for spares in 2006.
