Inspired by CliveG's recent post about the Stour, I left Bradwell early in the morning today to ride the tide up to The Stour and picked up a mooring at Wrabness. My first venture into The Stour. There was a choice of many empty moorings. As I write this I am enjoying some lovely evening sun and looking forward to a brisk return tomorrow in the forecast 4-5 northerly. Thanks for the info about this wonderful spot.
Who is responsible for these moorings? I spoke to another skipper as I arrived and he thought you could just help yourself for an overnight stay. I have never felt comfortable about doing this in, for example, The Backwaters and Pyefleet are now charging for their newish moorings.
Chicken curry, red wine and a sunset on the menu now.
