After milling around in the Crouch/Roach for a couple of weeks, and then motoring to Ostend and back a lot, I filled up again Shotley on Tuesday mornig.

I have used 85 quids worth of diesel this year, and its only May!!!

That means 83p a litre with more to come no doubt.

I shall now be readjusting my Gentlemen Dont Beat rule, and lowering my 5 knot motoring threshold to 4 knots.
I may even give some consideration to foul tides, as all this fuel cost is eating into my wine budget.

Yes it really has got silly. It would now cost me £125 to fill my yacht tank.

In 2006 it used to cost £150 to fill my V8 5 litre petrol power boat!!

Mind you, I could use that up in a day /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

£0.77 in Foxs
we used about 12 > 15 Lts on the trip over well above the sight tube so couldnt read it off /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
None on the return trip /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Well well well if i remember our VHF conversation in the middle of the north sea when you caught us up you asked could we not go any quicker.
I believe my reply was we could but couldnt afford to perhaps now the wisdom of those words are hitting home.
