For those of you that have never heard of the ANC, they are the ruling party in South Africa. Would you vote for them?

no, simply because once Nelson goes they seriously need an oposition - they do now but there isn't one

but it's africa isn't it?

i fear that the only thing that might keep them in tow is outside pressure just as under apartheid - the power of money might, hopefully, keep them fair on an african scale of things

More seriously, at least the choice is more varied than in Zimbabwe, and the consequences of non-conformity less fatal.

As a white man living in S Africa (which I would have to be to be able to vote) I would think it prudent to vote for the incumbent party. Just like I would vote for Mugabe.

Their attitude to dissent is even more robust than Alistair Campbell. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
