Not fair really, you should see my boat sometimes after a trip on the Humber, thats the colour of the water!! Its OK for you Solent lads the water is pre-cleaned for you!!
And we as subscribers to this mag, you would have thought that the lease costs of this machine would be looked after by some more caring gang of lazy office bound when its cold pen pushers.
No wonder our mags cost so much, perhaps when we see the boat in question during there summer jollys we should do routine hygine inspections as part of our rights as mag purchasers.
As usual someone sees somethimg unusual and jumps to all the wrong conclusions.
I have it on good authority that MBM's new editor (he of the Caravan Club fraternity) has alreay started to make his mark on the process of identifying with the readership. The boat has been subjected to what can best be described as an accelerated ageing test so that we won't need to wait 25 years to find out if it will be worth buying in 25 years time.
It will next form the basis for a series of articles on restoring neglected hulls and there is also just a chance of a study of the hazards of mud berths.
However, rumour has it that V*lv* have declined to participate in an investigation into how long outdrives can survive before a recommended service interval becomes an unrecoverable delay.
It is without doubt the most neglected floating garbage in the marina - God knows what its like inside.
I reckon she was not washed off after a salty trip and the grime that arrived with the Easterlies has attached to the salty bits. This boat has been a disgrace all Winter - never seen it clean , fenders are covered in black tar bits. The ensign (oftain left)flying was in tatters.
DERF is right DISGRACEFUL
If you look at how the ropes are left, the frayed fender ropes and the angle of dangle of the VHF aerial. Rest my case
Thankyou for drawing it to our attention. Calm Voyager is moored on the inner waiting pontoon in Port Solent next to foamy water outlet, unfortunately due to the high winds on thursday and into the weekend the boat has become very dirty.
Calm Voyager is the Motor Boats Monthly support and work boat and is used intensively throughout the year for cruises, training, boat tests and equipment tests.
She is being cleaned as we speak.
