Then had a BBQ on the beach.

Then we split up and we went to Conarfon. Tom and Babs turned up the next day, demanding tea.

After one cup we told them to bugger off cos we were catching the puffer train.

We were supposed to catch a propper puffer, but it broke down and a diesel turned up half an hour later.

Propper puffer.

Our puffer.

Our diesel puffer then over heated chuffing up the hill, so had to keep stopping for a rest.

Tuther propper puffer had to wait in the station till we got passed.

We we eventually arrived back at Conarfon five hours later. Knackerered.:)

Nice scenery weather and seas there Haydn. No exploding bogs? - grand. Great picture of James's ragboat. I used to go to Dinorwig as a kid becuase my dad worked there, for the CEGB (as it was then called, in natinalised industry days) on the hydro-electric pumped-storage thing. And als Wylfa a bit (not sure about spelling). So that must be Ffestiniog railway.

Sat in my office, not particuly a bad day but looking at the photos I'd rather be out on the boat, looks most relaxing....This weekend we are away for a baptism...weekend after that off to the outlaws....ahhhh tis not fair!!

Not Ffestiniog but Welsh Highland Railway, goes from Caernarfon almost to Port Madoc, which it will do from next year. The trains were packed, well staffed, and unless you sit in the outside compartments, which we did with the dog. Very comfortable & clean. Scenery is lovely, does go on a bit. I'll take a picture of Wylfa next time we go past for you.

view from Port Dinorwic....

I wasn't invited. :(

Had my own fun today. Phil and I assisted a charter fishing boat out of the outer harbour that wanted to go before there was enough water.
