world class regattas

I was flicking through a glossy magazine yesterday which had an article about activity holidays. As part of its reference to sailing in Antigua, it stated that Race Week is one of the top five regattas in the world.

Assuming that Cowes Week is one of the five, what are the other three ?

Well, it would have been the Admiral's Cup, the Southern Cross Series, that Florida series out of Key West whose name I've forgotten, and one of the big Med events. Nowadays I'm not so sure.

No trophies involved afaik, so not techincally a regatta. Okay, there's the Idiot Shield, but that's really more a piece of equipment rather than an award, surely?

Historically I assumed it means best five best 'cruise and booze' type regattas worldwide. None really to olympic or AC standards - but good week long parties and all worth attending at least once.
Cowes in UK, Cork in Ireland, Antigua in Caribbean, Kings Cup in Thailand and Hamilton Island in Oz.
