We bought a sports boat last September from SQM marine sales in North Wales which they were advertising on brokerage. When we paid them (8K) we were assured that they would produce the correct documentaion and a fish finder which was advertised with the boat. 8 months later, a lot of telephone calls later, and at least 20 visits to their shop later, yes you guessed it i still have no paperwork or fishfinder.

I have tried everything to get them to sort it out and everytime i go they promise me that they will sort it out, but i am chasing a dream now.

Be warned, We are usually very thorough when we buy things and not easlily caught out.

SQM can be a little economical with the facts. I used to buy PWC's from them in the 90's. to get the best out of them you need to keep them on side (When I say them I really mean she !).

I ordered a new Seadoo GTX in 2001, when it arrived after a very very long wait, it turned out to be a 2000. The attitude was take it or leave it. I still bought it because even at a year older than agreed it was still 20% cheaper than anyone else.

Can you get hold of the seller ? They may still have the items you are after.

Salford Quays Marine, they are based in Stretford, Manchester. I think they also have a base in Pwllheli. They imported lots of jetskis and Cobalt boats I think.

After being in North Wales for twelve months, I have yet to find a decent repairer. Be it engines, ancillaries, upholstery, or hull. They have all let me down. It's either cant wont or don't. Tuther one is, cant be bovered. I am totally running out of choices.

Your post does not say a lot for Kawasaki (Marine Engineers & Story Tellers) Cymru PLC. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I know the feeling but keep nagging them, in my experience if you persist with SQM they eventually come good (but it is hard work). Salford branch is now closed down but William is still one of the best Marine Engineers that I have come across.

If it was on brokerage, there is usually some disclaimer as to representation of facts. They may have believed the seller would produce both the paperwork and FF, but if he doesnt, there isnt much they can do.
Re FF, I'd ask them to get you one, or re-imburse you.
Regarding the paperwork, if they cant get it from the seller, they cant give it to you.. After 8 months, I d doubt its going to turn up...

I had a similar problem with the broker when we bought our boat (plymouth). The compass which was listed but missing was eventually replaced and some paperwork materialised but we never got all the paperwork!
