My wife left a wet steel tray on a piece of solid oak for two days. How can I remove the resulting black stain without removing too much of the surface of the oak?
It seems to depend -- here, at any rate -- on which wholesaler the pharmacy uses. My local chemists are 50 yards apart. One can order oxalic acid, the other not.
You'll find that oxalic acid will also prevent such stains occurring in future -- if administered liberally to your wife. V poisonous (the acid, not your wife)
