Hi,

Had a flagpole Accident when trying to retrieve a bucket in cowes a few weeks back and snapped it.

It has a 22mm copper? Fitting at the bottom. Wooden. With cleat.

Any ideas where I can find the same? ie with a copper/metal 22mm dia male end?

If you mean a wooden staff fitted with a copper ferrule at the end for insertion into a socket, then I would think you'd have to make it yourself or get it specially made. Just cut a piece of copper tube of the same external diameter as the rod, rebate the end of the staff to suit, and slide and then glue the copper on.

We once made up a pair of staffs somewhat similar, for mounting on a classic car --

However, if it's a proper jackstaff mounted in a bronze deck socket like one of these, then there's no need for the copper --

Fit the wooden end straight in, then tighten the thumbscrew enough to put a dimple in the wood. (And I'd remove both staff and thumbscrew when leaving the vessel, too.)
