Wooden cockpit duckboards

Nice timber slatted duckboard on new boat coated in some sort of paint. It maybe some sort of timber paint, now sanded down so need to decide what to recoat it with. Hopefully something easy and not too dear. Possibly a fence paint / stain.
What would you reccomend?

I use Sikkens Cetol for the purpose. It's a coloured, so make sure the colour you pick suits your boat. Get it from here https://www.screwfix.com/p/sikkens-cetol-hls-plus-specialist-paint-light-oak-2-5ltr/77655 . My grating seems to holding up well, much better than the varnish that was on it before, which tended to flake off within a year or so.

Decking stain is what I used on cockpit grating.

If it's teak I would leave it ... or use International Woodskin.
