Hi Thames,

I'm wondering if there is a kind soul out there that would be willing to help me with a small joinery problem.

On my way to London I lost my stern locker lid, and I need to fix it properly before fitting my Eberspacher.

I've come up with a plan on how to do it, but I'm stuck for having the tools and venue to do it.

Here's the plan.
Take a look at my poor drawing here: http://www.skunkbag.co.uk/images/stern_locker.GIF

The existing stern locker has a round hatch, but I intend to replace this with something more square.

The plan is to make a simple wooden frame (red lines) out of 2x1, then bolt it to the aft deck. Once bolted, I plan on cutting away the GRP in green, and then glassing the wooden frame in place. Once done I should have nice square hatch on which to easily build something to cover it in a water tight fashion.

Is there anybody around the central London area that can give me a hand making the wooden frame? I can to all the rest myself but lack pretty much everything required to make up that bit.

Beers and or donations on offer.

If we get everyone pissed, this hatch cover could be quite a masterpiece.

Haha.

Thanks for all the offers everybody. Put's a warming glow into my faith in humanity. awww. Turns out the bloke next to me on the marina has a load of tools at his studio so he took the measurements last night and offered to deliver said woodwork at some point this week.

I'm certainly up for a beer though. God, I was supposed to taking it easy in Jan. It's not turning out to be a good start so far. haha.

We could organise one for after LIBS one evening. It normally finishes at 7pm which would give you a chance to get to the pub and catch up with us before we get there. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
