Having to use brain at the moment. Just beginning the completion of the mid cabin on 'Blue Shadow', the titchy replacement for 'Pershilla'. Fuel and water tanks built into the bilge in the old traditional manner, using specialised resins that have very modern prices!!! All the interior panels have been backed up with two layers of under-wallpaper polystyrene as a nod at insulation. The faces are either teak veneer or white vinyl flooring (brilliant stuff). Before the panels can be fitted the wiring for the cabin has to be run in flexible trunking and secured. So there's no second chances if anything is left out. Two, two way double light switches make things more complicated as there are two sets of lights; one set for the bed and one set for general illumination. Then there are the blue night lights on yet another circuit and switched on a universal switch that will illuminate these throughout the boat. Next job when the weather improves is to cut the top layer off the sandwich cockpit floor and replace the foam with ply with an additional layer of ply under the bottom layer of the floor to give extra stiffness. Lots of expensive epoxy resin, hardener and powder ready for the first mild spell. Don't think I'm going to be ready this year!

Hello Floss, I thought everyone from the this forum had died. The boats a Reinell V-204. A 1978 approx' American sports cruiser that I am doing a total inside and out, top to bottom renovation as a downsize from my 12 metre flybridge cruiser 'Pershilla'. Here's a pic from about 18 months ago when were taking the engine out.:)

Yes, I thought everyone had died too! Well done you for rescuing or fully restoring an older craft. Makes me very sad to see forlorn craft, motor or sail, awaiting a caring owner who, sometimes, never comes along! Thanks for the piccie, nice barn you have to work in. Really miss the space when we sold our small holding and bought a normal house.

I see "Bristol" on the transom, could you divulge the name of the boat, and post some more pictures of her?
Still alive but slowing freezing to death!
