wood treatment - lots of little glass beads in no-colour liquid

Can someone remind me of the name of a wood finish which is (was?) a colourless liquid with according to the advert millions of glass beads in suspension? The liquid soaked into the wood and dissipated leaving a hard wearing and natural finish with a slightly roughened feel. If this/these products have a technical name pls advise as I am going to have to source it in Spain where brand names aren't necessarily the same as elsewhere. Many thanks to present and past contributors to the subject of 'cleaning my gelcoat'!

Was it Burgess' Woodesealer? Seem to remember trying it out a few years ago. think I've still got some left buried deep on the garage shelves!

Burgess do several differnt wood protection products

I have used them for several years including on the brightwork. All of the inside of Little Ship is done with their stain and water based acrylic topgloss and I wont change to anything else.

I assume that the Wood sealer is what you are looking for, I have used it and it does leave the surface with a rough (ish) finish that can be sanded and finished with other products.

PS If I ever strip the varnish on LS again I will use the stain and Topgloss instead of varnish, it is softer than varnish but very easy and quick to repair (30 min drying time). Some bits on the brightwork are still Topgloss and you cant tell it from the labour intensive varnish|!
