Anyone have a supplier for marine ply in the south east? I know we can get it from Robbins but the carriage is horrendous.

Good on you. I was about to suggest a place in Castletown, IoM. That would really given him a fright about carriage.
You must excuse these Anglocentric posters. They live under the misapprehension that they live at the centre of the universe, when everybody knows that's Brussels.

That would be south east England, of course. Is there any other south east? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Basildon - that's where me dog came from complete with an ASBO.

I have bought individual sheets of marine ply from Robbins Ltd. It's first class stuff but, as you say, the carriage is expensive and I never had a piece delivered that wasn't damaged in some way, eg corners crushed, deep scratches and dents. This was caused by inadequate packaging [cardboard, puny corner shields and plastic sheet] which the clumsy apes of delivery drivers make short work of. On one occassion I had two replacement pieces delivered and they were also damaged; the last one at least had one intact face and I was able to get a price reduction from Robbins but I could have done without the hassle.

I am sure you know that there is marine ply and there is marine ply - and the quality difference is dramatic. Robbins can supply good quality - if you ask.
