Rick has no passed the baton to me to organise the monthly meet. He has been IC social drinking for a long time, so I guess its only fair someone else shoulders the responsibility for a bit :)

So, pub meeting on March 10th is the plan at the Dog and Duck in Wokingham - Map and Directions

I wanted to ask if we all felt that going forward the Dog & Duck was still the best place to hold the meeting? Originally the Wokingham chapter was started by Brendan, Rick and Derek and it looks likely that in the coming months the only local to the pub still in attendance will be Derek.

Is there a concensus that perhaps a shift of location to somewhere between Wokingham and Camberley might be a good idea as a good number of us travel from the Camberley direction, or would we prefer to leave things as they are?

If you would like to nominate a change of pub, please do so on this thread. If you would prefer to leave things as they are then let everyone know. Hope to see everyine on the 10th regardless.

Jez

Sounds like a good point, we all have to drive except Rick and Jimmy comes the furthest.

Sandhurst or Brackenell exit might be good.

Wellington Arms in Sandhurst and I think it's the Frogs legs ot Toadstalls at the Bracknell to Wokingham exit and along abit.

I have felt that Dodgy & Duck have taken the mick a bit with 1/2+ hour waits for food even when ordered in the afternoon. The organisation is lacking. I only know the Wellington Arms and that might be a bit busy at times.

What about a riverside pub?

Hi Jez, well done for picking up from Rick on the drinks organisation. I'm afraid that once again I'm mia for next week, I'll be in not-so-sunny Chester.

On the venue, I've got to agree with Rog's comments about the rubbish food service. I'm relaxed about an alternative, there's a wetherspoons in Brighton marina if that would suit you? :D

Cheers
Jimmy

Hi Jez, thanks for taking up the baton. Look forward to seeing you next week. Re the venue, I'm pretty easy really. Certainly not concerned about travel if it suits a few more peeps. The Three Frogs is also in Wokingham but on the Bracknell side i.e. the other side of Wokingham from the Dog & Duck. The Wellington Arms in Sandhurst is def. closer to Camberley and might suit more of the peeps that attend. Don't know anything about the food or pub layout tho'.
Strangely I seem to know more about venues in Brighton, St Peters Port, St Malo, Carteret ect :D:D bit of a long way to go for a few beers on a Wednesday night:):)
I guess we should see what the general concensus is and i'm happy to go with the flow. Might encourage a few more peeps to pop along which would be good because you lot have heard my embellished tales too many times:D;):D;)

Camberley would be better than Wokingham for me.

Agree with the other comments about delays serving food.

Bugger,Ill be in Rome.
Camberley would be better for me, if I wasnt.Windlesham would be better.

No Show

Hi,
Dont think we will be able to make it this week, Timbad will be away so I think I will have a quiet night in.
Of course I think Camberley area would be fab to move to!
Have fun!!

Sadly we won't be able to make it, Carol's band have a gig at the Quays in Mytchett so we'll be there!

As for venue's, the quays could be an option, its large does cheap food and certainly in the summer you can watch a spot of wakeboarding on the lake there!

Other options could be:
The Lobster pot - Upper Hale (near Farnham)
The Shepherd & Flock - Farnham
The Heron on the lake - Fleet
The Foresters - Fleet
The Ely - on the A30 near Blackbushe airfield

But happy to go with wherever most people want to go :D

Another probable no show from me, - a little someones 11th Birthday Thursday and I dont tell him but I haven't bought him anything yet!

Might pop in later on.

Re venue, fairly relaxed about it, although Wokingham would be better after August. Happy to try others around and about.

Forum meet

Oh dear I missed it again! I always forget to look in the Virtual Pub (until it's too late)

Must be my round by now ;)

Moving venue may not make too much difference to us, the current place is quite a long way. (but not as far as Jimmy comes) If its further away we may not be able to make it so ofter, (Ok who said good?) But I guess we couldnt get less often than our current attendance record.

Sorry we missed everyone last week,

Cheers

D
