WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

Sorry Chukka to borrow your headline... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

She floats! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"It" has now become "She" and "Three Summers" has now done 10 miles on the River Thames today! I think maybe two to four litres of petrol, but seriously guessing there!

Getting ready to launch:

Reversing off the trailer:

How do I make it go?

And how do I make it turn?

A couple of posed shots:

Parked at the pub for a Coke:

Go well,

Re: WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

She looks superb, even without windows. You've done a great job. Hope to move to a mooring in the Richmond area soon. Look forward to meeting you on the water.

Re: WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

She looks great ! I did think about launching the runabout to catch you up but by the time i got moving it was gone mid day and i have been worse than useless all day /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I like the top loading lockers on the aft , are they sealed lockers for gas etc ? My last boat had the same aft and because the top was decked everything just got pushed to the back and lost .
She really does look smart mate , well done !

Next job is to come to Ashmount and tonce up my launch. If you get my little bit of woodwork half as nice as yours I'd be one very happy bloke.

Re: WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

That really is a great looking boat, i'd love one of those, well done.
It does however need an ensign and pole to finish it off /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And maybe a stylish little mast for any burgee you wish to fly. A very pretty boat indeed.

Re: WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

Wobbly,

Nice launch site but can you leave your car and trailer there?

Re: WobblyLegs\' Grand Day Out...

Thanks for the comments. It was a great day, but as a first timer I was quite nervous, especially going through Teddington Lock. My other boat is an inflatable, with tiller steering and much easier to manoeuvre.

Doolittle - any chance I can get a high res copy of that pic? I take it you weren't on one of the many boats that were told to slow down because of the kid's regatta at the rowing club?

Yes, you can leave the car and trailer there. Look up "River Lane" in Richmond on Google maps. You can park most of the length of that road. You'll have to get there early. We got there at about 9 o'clock, no other cars. It was a bit tight getting out again at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and at one stage had to unhitch the trailer to get it past a car at the top of the road.

Ha ha haaaaa... stop it hurts!!! We were by far, the slowest boat in the Northern hemisphere. Rowers were careering towards our stern on the tidal stretch and we were yelling at them to watch out!!

Of course, pm me your email addy and I'll send a copy. It isn't that good though!
