Yesterday received an email from the owner of the last boat we viewed in Sada.Apparently he is up for next years marina berth payment and wanted to know if I was interested in,although I had already said the wife thought it too small. If it was just me I would say yes as he has dropper a thousand euros .But the wife is firm and to some extent she is right ,another two feet will increase the internal space without making it a too big boat to handle .Instead of 23 feet a 25 footer would be ok.

Take her on a 25 footer......and there can only be three responses from her....it’s still not big enough....it’s perfect buy it....not much different to the 23 footer.
If the answer is number three, go back to the man...by then he will have dropped the price by another five hundred

Are you sure your wife wasn't talking about something else and said another few inches would be nice? ;)

Good thinking😂

25 ft is too small let alone 23 ft. Look for 30ft.
I bought a 31 & spent years half wishing I had bought a 34/35 in fact i nearly bought a 37, but was put off by the shallow fin
We managed vey well in the Albin Vega…a 25/26 would be ok .Thegoodthing about the zvega was that the deck was only about A footabovethepontoon deck

The Albin Vega was / is 27 foot a far cry from the boats you have been looking at here's a nice enough one and you could spend the summer getting her back to Spain and still have a goodly sum left over.https://uk.boats.com/boats-for-sale/?make=albin&model=vega

Unfortunately my health is not up to such an adventure, wish that it was🙁

Sorry to read about the health limitations if they are that decisive..

Part of any deal for a prospective boat purchase would be that the owner delivers it of course 😎

It is just possible that the UK/Europe import thinghy might become less taxing too ..maybe.

And that would be interesting but of course uk prices would rise swiftly to meet and greet the Europeans.

You might now find after looking at and being seduced by so many glamorous continental models for so long now that the humble and venerable Westerly Centaur etc will no longer do it for you though!

Decisions decisions 🤔

Pick one out of an envelope and make the daftest offer? ( say the cat suggested the numbers 😂)

If a mighty westerly Centaur became available in Galicia …..I would have no excuse, as long as Itwas A layout😂

A few years ago I got seriously interested in changing my Twister for a Nicholson 35.

In Brittany I met a very charming French lady, a widow, who had the Nicholson but wanted to get something smaller, like my Twister, that she could more easily sail single-handed.

The proposed deal was that we would swap boats, with a cash adjustment.

Enthused, I took my wife on board for a look round, but she vetoed the deal on the grounds that she found the Nicholson too big: difficult to climb on board and she felt lost in its spacious cockpit.

Or maybe she felt that I was finding the French widow a little too charming and wanted negotiations broken off before they developed into something more than a shared interest in yachts. ;)

My wife is quite firm too. Hold on, I’ll give her a squeeze to check🤣
