How can I wire this please. 4 warning lights each wired to specific sensor, water temp, oil pressure etc. how can I wire just one buzzer alarm to attract attention that a light that has been triggered, I don’t want 4 seperate buzzers, the wiring for just one buzzer is way beyond me.
Thanks
Keith

Diodes are your friends. They conduct only 1 way.. So if you connect the +signal for each light to the + side of a diode (1 for each light) and all the - sides of the diodes together and to the buzzer it will work how you want.

If thats all a bit electronicy the you can do it with relays.
have a relay for each light so each sensor switches on a light and a relay. you can then use the relay contacts in parallel (all relays operate a single buzzer)

I dont think so!

In the case of simple warning lights susch as temp , oil pressure etc there will be a positive supply from the ignition switch to each of the lights.
The negative side of the lights will be connected to the respective sensor. the other side of which will be earthed to the engine.

Therefore connect the cathodes of the diodes to the negative sides of the lights and the anodes to the negative side of the buzzer,

The positive side of the buzzer should connect to the same +ve supply as all the lights .

5,6 and 7 are the warning lights (8 is the ignition warning light)

4 is the buzzer

41 are the diodes

Cool
What do I specify when I go into Maplins or online
Thanks
Keith

A 12 volt Piezo buzzer that suits your needs regarding mounting, connection type and volume . If your hearing has been damaged by noise you may also find that you will need a relatively low frequency one.

the 1N4000 series of silicon diodes should be suitable ( 1N4001 even )
