Evening,
Went to the boat today to try to link the GPS128 unit to my Standard Horizon GX2100. Connected the blue wire (NMEA out ) and the green wire (NMEA out ) but no satellite/GPS signal is being received by the radio. Tried changing the formats in the interface screen but still no signal showing on the radio so left it on NMEA/NMEA. Has anyone got a definative what wire goes to what wire and what settings (if any) i need to enter on the GPS or SH GX2100.
Many thanks in advance.

Rob.

The GPS128 outputs NMEA data on its blue wire. The GX2100 receives NMEA data on its blue wire too. So you need to connect the 2 blue wires together.

You need to check that the GPS128 is set to output NMEA data - look at the "Interface" page and set it to "None/NMEA".

The circuit should automatically be completed through the ground (12v negative) connections, but if there's a problem you could connect the GX2100's green wire to the GPS128's black wire.

Connected the blue wire (NMEA out ) and the green wire (NMEA out )

This is doubly wrong.

1. The connection you're trying to make is a nonsense. Why would you shove NMEA up the radio's output wire? It's not listening through that orifice!
2. You're not making the connection you think you're making, anyway. The radio's green wire is the NMEA negative (aka ground, common), not output.

You want to connect the radio's blue wire (NMEA in, +ve) to the GPS's blue wire (NMEA out, +ve) and the radio's green wire (NMEA -ve, for all channels) to the GPS's black wire (combined -ve for both power and NMEA).

It's not rocket surgery :p:)

Ahh. No wonder bu**er all was working. I did see some mention of a black wire in radio manual but was up to eyes in different manuals and wires I caved in. Will try your set up when I'm next down on board.
Thanks.
Rob.
