My stbd wiper motor has not got the grunt to wipe. I have taken it out and checked it over, cleaned and regreased gears etc, brushes ok, joints ok, batteries full (and other side fine). Renewed blade, cleaned the screen. Any ideas welcome please.

possibly bad contact, have you tried swapping them over. If that fails, then possibly the engine windings have broken down, or the contacts to the commutator have failed - either way may be a replacement job.

Are you sure its the motor? Some wiper arms have a very basic clutch where they are attached to the drive - if its not done up tight enough the motor moves, but the wiper doesn't, or moves intermittently depending on how much friction between the blade and the screen.
