Winterize or start

Hi

Ive heard different views on this- on a 2 stroke outboard is it best to start regularly over the winter, say once a month, or winterize it and leave it till its wanted early next year.

Really not necessary to start once a month. Change the gear oil in the leg; if it's a four stroke, change the crankcase oil, spray fogging oil in the cylinder (or use a tablespoon of engine oil and pull the starter cord a few times), drain the carburator of fuel and empty the fuel tank.
