Hi there... has anyone on this forum wintered out in Northern Norway. We want to hit Svarlbard early in summer and felt like it could be good to winter in Lofoten or Tromso and do some skiing and stuff. I’d been keen to hear from anyone that’s done it what the vibe is like up there in Winter.

We visited Tromso by air and did a cruise on the Hutigruten ships last Feb. and although above the artic circle with snow on the ground, the place was fully functioning with yachts afloat in the local marina and commercial vessels coming and going. There was an active vibe about town and lots of functioning events going on. It was Feb. so they were coming out of the darkest part of winter.
