i know it very well its very quite in winter im not sure anyone else lives aboard .The capitans really helpful, the private port is less expensive than the public!and there funy about electricity you pay extra but your no allowed to heat, cant make this to long as im sitting inmy cabin in sweden where a heaters needed in the evening peckig at my pda sending by my gprs phone and being bitten by mosquitoes, its also one of the most expecive ports along the coast and may not have a place st tropez is 30%less for winter but full as well but give them a call
good luck ill be back in st tropez in october when ive layed my folkboat up for winter in stokholm
i wd recommend neither st st trop nor frejus (miles from a town) but at least frejus has some shelter from the NW mistral, whereas st trop gets a good kicking.
it raining hear,and almost june!
i agree,i looked at every other port in an attempt the get away as the areas has become ally awful .not to mention more expensive.
perhaps hes been oferd a place for winter,in which case if hes happy with the price is fine but it is out of town but only a 15 or20 min walk,i used a bike, the towns a bit boreing, but so is st trop now there is a huge casino supermarket wayout on the oposit side of town but if yoy dont have a cat could be difficult and tedious to get to,shopping in towns fine but only small supermarket with higher price
the port lacks atmosphere id say if you really wanted to be in the med and you cant find somewhere better then why not but could be lonly and be sure to ask about the electric and the maximum current allowed, and ask to if its ok to love aboard as liveaboards use more services, and the rules change yearly.swedens on the otherhand is less expensive to live and the vikings are really great i even saw a school called viks school!
