I have decided to leave my boat in the water over the winter. I hope to use it probably with the same frequency as I do in the summer ie about once every couple of weeks.
I see that the sea temperature in the Solent did not fall below 4 c.
Anybody with any advice suggestions etc ?

Plenty of options, Quay Lane Boatyard, Wicor Marine, Gosport Boatyard, PME at Fareham, Fareham Marina and a new small place by viaduct - just case of looking at their prices and making your choice.

Some boats at Wicor where I am stay out on the moorings all winter it's a nice yard and good facilites, however, you are on swinging mooring in the winter!!! When I stayed in all year and enquired my insurance co were not happy so I took it to Port Solent who did a winter deal.

Condensation is a big problem if you cannot connect to power for heat or de humidify.

Are you the author of 'Keeping Nyala in Style', by the way? One of the useful books in my library.

One of the things which would bother me is security; from experience it seems boats left in over winter tend to be more conspicuous, attracting yobs / thieves.

Sincerely hope this worry proves groundless for you.
