hi Guys
What does it cost to store a 30ft boat over winter?,im trying to work out if i can afford the coat of owning a larger boat.

what do you do with your boats that are kept on a mooring?

I have used Morgan Marine in Brightlingsea for the last few years for Winter ashore. Their price list is on the web Morgans Prices but costs are £1.85 per m per wk for storage, plus a cradle if you need one £90, plus the list out / in at £11 per m each time.

I think for Flipper (27') Winter costs me about £600 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If you're thinking of Wells, there's a compound at the East end beyond where the old whelk sheds are that many of the local boats use.
Given the low cost of moorings there, I would have thought that the winter storage costs would be pretty reasonable.

winter storage at wells is very reasonable,at present i dont have the winter storage problem as the mac is stored in my back yard during winter

I estimate that for a 30ft boat either lifting keel or bilge,it costs 600 a year including lift out and storage plus mooring

All in boatyard package for my 30'er at Waldringfield including mooring, storage, moving, lift & pressure wash is around £1500 pa, though am moving to my own mooring at much lower cost next season. Interestingly I briefly sailed a Mac26X like yours before acquiring the Dufour in 2002, which has proved a great boat - am now considering trading up again, possibly to a Moody 336...
