Winter storage Rance/Vilaine canal

We're planning to leave our boat somewhere on the canal this winter if poss. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and advice about likely places or indeed whether it will be easy to do this without booking ahead? Someone we met mentioned Messac (?) Crown Blue depot. Ideally ashore but bit of a problem in that it's a trailer sailer and doesn't have strong bulkheads for blocks. Boat is 24ft.

There no problem if you go down beyond Redon to just before Roche Bernard. There's a yard there who provide all the basic facilities. I forget the name now but can look it up if you wish. There is also a very nice gite overlooking the yard where you can stay whilst laying up/commisioning. PM me if want more details

I think you are talking about Folieux (spelling ?), couple of miles upstream of Roche Bernard. Looked small but secure.
