Winter getting you down suffering from cabin fever. no Googling or its the Black spot

How many boaty sayings can we think of.

Cannot fathom it
Three sheets to the wind
Bit off course.
Push the boat out
All at Sea.
POSH.
A fair wind.
Do not rock the boat
To learn the ropes.
Any port in a storm
Splice the mainbrace
On his watch.
Up the creek
Show a leg
to knock seven bells out of someone
Sealegs
Getting hitched.
Marooned.
Sending a signal
A fair wind.
Dangerous waters
To clear the decks.
Hook line and sinker
To take a different tack
A shot across the bows
High and dry
Shiver me timbers

Is that a proper boat...no tis a Hardy me old shipmate .:).Sits back and waits 1-2-3-4 ?

choc a block
scandalise
bye and bye
by and large
three sheets to the wind
too close to the wind
back winded
ship shape
cut of his jib
devil and the deep blue sea
batten down the hatches
scuppered
money for old rope
running a tight ship
can't fathom it
high and dry
not on my watch
press ganged
mutiny

Lovely stuff ...................nail your colours to the mast.

Three years before the mast,

Avast behind ( you shouldnt have looked !)

going below
Press ganged
Sleeping with the fishes
Davy Jones locker.
Man the life boats
Keeping a weather eye out
Limey.
All aboard
SOS
Down the hatch
Thrown a lifeline
To past muster.
Going a bit overboard
Spinning a bit of a yarn
Stranded.

Shake a leg
Enough room to swing a cat
Two, Six, Heave!
To chunder
She's got a fair run to her buttocks.
Sling your hook.
To turn a blind eye
