Winter for Med liveaboards

Our great escape begins early next year. We are starting in the Med from Malta, with a loose intention to cruise the Ionian and Agean.

Wintering in the Med doesn't appeal and we are considering moving on later in the year to Madeira or thereabouts, possibly to cross the Atlantic the following year. Anyone know:-

a) Good anchorages for a cat.
b) Best times of year to transit that way
c) Other suggestions

guess you have laptop, this is all you need 4planning
almerimar and barcelona 4marinas or ille de la culatra, faro if staying with boat.
