Having bought Marmalade only in July this year (found her on this forum and bought from another active forumite) we've now sailed her up to Ipswich for the winter in Neptune Marina - our first time in a marina as a berth holder rather than as a visitor. Staff have been great and it's a good location - we can use the boat as a weekend place as it's right in the middle of Ipswich's rapidly changing (for the good) dock area. Being a bit of a foodie, I've now set myself the task of sampling every eaterie in the area, and will report back here.

For context I sail / travel with 1 wife (1/2 italian - the most critical eater-outer I've ever met) 1 15-year-old girl (whateva) and an 11 year old who fancies herself as a vegetarian

Would be interested in others' opinions and suggestions for us to try over the coming months

OK, here's a few ideas to be going on with -

In town (close by) - Lord Nelson, Passage to India (Fore Street), Bistro on the Quay, Il Punto, Last Anchor, Starfish Fish and chips (Wherstead Road)
Out of Town - Buttermans (Woolverstone Marina), Brantham Bull (especially Mon, Tue, Wed night when there are two main courses for the price of one off the specials board), The Boathouse (Dedham), Milsoms (Dedham)
Bit further afield but well worth the trip - Butley Orford Oysterage (Orford)

That should do for a few days!
