It was a pretty hectic mornings racing yesterday in the Solent and now every muscle in my back aches! However how good was it to see the sun shining and amazingly the water even felt warmer!
I have a spring in my step and feel like summer is just around the corner but am I being optimistic or does anyone else feel the same?

Spring has sprung
The grass is riz
I wonder where those birdies is

I think we still have a week or two to go.

Yesterday morning out of 8 Enterprises that started our race on the Thames, 2 broke their rudders and 3 capsized. I am going to carry on using the dry suit for a little while longer.

Probably not more than f5, but sudden gusts caught people out running downwind. I managed to avoid capsizing but had the boom in the water several times.

There was a 47.7 in our class that did a nasty crash gybe at a windward mark. It looked like they broke their gooseneck but not sure. The main certainly started to come down. They were then sailing back and forth with just their jib up so I wondered if they had a MOB. Not heard anthing yet but there were certainly alot of breakages!

Stellagirl, since you're coming over here soon with those Volvo-thingies I thought you might like to know we had severe thunderstorms, gusts to 60mph and a tornado watch all evening here on the Chesapeake. Still, didn't spoil the glorious week of sunshine, blue sky and temps in the 20'sC we've just had /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Just thought I'd rub it in... Did you get your charter set up yet?

Neil
