Does anybody know how to access the compressor for the fridge on deck on the Khamsin 35? I have had a quick look in the locker where the fuel tank is but no obvious access point?

Thanks

If it's the same as the 34, and if I remember correctly, then open the deck hatch next to the sliding door to the cabin, stick your head in and look aft. The compressor is at the back of this locker which is almost directly under the fridge.

edit: if it has just stopped working, try replacing the trip switch (replace not re-set), which on the 34 is located on a panel in the aft cabin. I had several of them fail, but it's not obvious they've failed as the button doesn't stick out further.

Thanks Nick, it did just suddenly fail, so hopefully is just the trip switch...(where did you get your replacements from?)

If it is in that locker i may have to remove the AC unit to access it...

It is in that hatch, but forward, under the cabin steps. Does the cabin fridge work? If not, first try all the connections, or test the cables with a voltmeter. If you stuff all sorts into the locker, you can dislodge a cable (something Nick might have done, but not me, obviously;) ) If you have some others extras fitted, they sometimes took the power feeds off the compressor connectors, so first check if there is power.
If there is power, I did eventually track down some bumph on compressor testing...let me know if you are stuck, and I will see if I kept it.

I thought that was the compressor for the cabin fridge, or is that under the removable base of the locker just inside the sliding door? I may be getting mixed up with the Webasto heater, which was also around there somewhere. It's all a bit of a haze to be honest :D

The cabon fridge is working fine, i assumed the compressor under the steps would be for that fridge?

Rarely, the large draining ice bucket fridge in the cockpit was also a fridge, along the lines of a chill plate, as in the cockpit. If you mean the normal mini fridge
with the side opening swing door, then there is no seperate compressor. It is built into the fridge unit, so I think you will need to remove the fridge and try to work out if it is power connections, or something more expensive !

Ah.. then I think it is indeed right at the back of the lazerette as Nick suggested. It might be shown on the electrical diagram in the owners manual ?
'Fraid I have the mini fridge.. I thought you had discovered an item I haven't yet had to deal with !

Thought that may be the case! Thanks for all your help (and Nick)...

Have you had to replace the belt on the electric backrest yet??
