Well, what can I say? Didn't you all do well.

Great to put so many faces to names, even if I didn't manage to spend as much time chatting as I would have liked. Everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves including the WYC peeps that attended and I have sent the following email to Rob Roberts on our behalf:

"Hi Rob,
Just a brief note on behalf of the Thames Forum crowd for the hospitality and assistance provided by TWYC last weekend.
In particular, please thank all those who helped provide such splendid catering, not to mention the bar staff. I think our lot will be quite proud of managing to drink you out of Ruddles!

As you know, we have no formal structure at all, being a loose association of Thames boaters who communicate through the YBW Thames Forum. Please do encourage any of your members, who wish to, to join the Forum. It is becoming a very real point of contact and up to the minute information for all Thames based issues. The web address is www.ybw.com/forums/thames

Finally, my thanks to you, personally, for helping with the smooth running of things. I look forward to meeting you again in the not too distant future.

Best regards
Tony Riley

I am also sending a 'Thank You' to Mike Gates for MDL's splendind contribution on Saturday.

So.....whats next??? (But not too soon...please!)

Sent following to Mike Gates at MDL:

"Hi Mike,

A formal 'thank you' from all on the Thames Forum for your generous sponsorship of the Get-Together at Windsor last weekend.
The goody bags went down well (Waitrose here I come) and I know the wine , sandwiches and supper on Saturday were much appreciated, not to mention the favourable mooring rate for the non MDL people.

Hope Helen didn’t give you too much stick for taking her to our 'do' on her birthday :-)

I hope you derive some benefit from the event, goodwill was certainly evident.
My personal thanks for helping to make it happen.

Best regards
Tony

Er, not "quite" that bad, but I had to go to bed at 22:00 last night. An hour later than Sunday evening so much be getting better.

When you are young you can drink for three days and recover in three hours. Then suddenly, if you drink for three hours it takes three days to recover.
