Anybody know how to change the seals on the sliding parts of a Fisher wheelhouse window ? It seems that to do this I have to lift the sliding glass out but the glass will only come out if I dismantle the whole frame by drilling out the pop rivets at the mid point junctions . Surely there is an easier way ?

If they are two piece sliding windows the centre strip must be removed. A bottom strip perhaps too. Once these 'overlapping bits are out of the way, the glass can be lifted free of the sealing groove and lowered out of the top groove.

This advice might not directly relate to the windows on your Fisher, but they all work in the same way.

We had ex bus windows in a canal narrowboat-they were the same.

Drilling pop rivets out is not a difficult job.

If it's anything like the Harley 25 window made by Seaglaze, you have the get the window out then there are internal screws holding the top and bottom frames together. If (big if) you can get the screws out the frame can be separated. Chances are the frame is corroded and you will damage the frame getting it out. I decided to replace the entire window and that was a hell of a job. Glad I did because getting the window out without damaging it was impossible. Even after the rivets were drilled out I had the separate the frame from the grp which was bonded with sealant.
