We are soon to remove some of our windows in order to refit new headlinings. Our aluminum frames appear to have aluminum single slot machine head screw/bolts and a nut on the inside. These have been ground off into a conical aesthetically pleasing shape, unless of course this is how they originally were? Photo available on request!

There appears to be no way to grip these so I am assuming new nuts and bolts will be required. Am I correct in thinking these have to be aluminum to go with the frames and does anyone know of any suppliers? Trimming length down is not an issue. Also can anyone recommend a suitable sealant as it appears the window frames will have to be split in this process and one or two of them leak anyway?

In order to make the Sicoflex sealant work properly it is essential to clean both the GRP and the window frames with 'acetone'... It is the cleanliness of the joint that ensures the Sicoflex does not allow moisture through... It is very easy to acquire leaking windows..
